Steve began his career in the media industry as a sportswriter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. From there, he moved on to serve as director of the public relations department at Merica, Burch & Dickerson, one of southern Nevada's largest advertising agencies. He eventually left MB&D to start his agency – The Team Advertising and Public Relations, which had a diverse client roster, including a casino corporation (Circus Circus Enterprises, Inc.), large homebuilders, a cell phone provider, banks, a hospital, accountants, an auto parts chain, and various other businesses
After becoming a family man and looking for his own “Mayberry” to raise his children, he decided to relocate The Team to Ruston, Louisiana … far away from and different in every sense than life in Sin City.
In Ruston, The Team thrived – and grew exponentially – eventually branching out into magazine publishing. Steve successfully helmed the launch of a sporting and outdoor magazine, Recreation Life, before going onto create – and successfully publish for more than 20 years – State-by-State Gardening magazines. SBS began with one title, Louisiana Gardener, eventually expanding to 21 state-specific gardening magazines.
With that chapter now closing, Steve is returning to his advertising roots with AdZilla. But he returns with the expertise of all sides of the advertising coin – buying, selling, and creating advertising – as well as websites, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, and more.
At some point during this evolution, Steve discovered a new interest and knack for working on political campaigns and lobbying for a regional sports complex.
Steve has written hundreds of effective, sales-generating online ads, print ads, radio spots, television commercials, and brochures. But his main value now is as a strategic thinker: analyzing the needs and objectives of AdZilla’s clients and making recommendations on media, message, budgets, and execution. In other words, he makes sure our clients’ money is spent wisely.
